If you are new to this series, here is part 1. I will begin with my late mom who had an unusual “gift” of seeing event before they occurred, in her dreams. She would wake up and share a dream she had about an event; give or take a day or so, that event would come to pass.
I recall the day my grand father died. My mom woke us up, about 3 AM, crying profusely. When we enquired what the issue could be, she told us that her dad who lived about twenty miles away, had died. How do you know, we asked? She narrated what she saw in her dream as follows.

A car pulled up into the compound she said. There were three people in the car. She recognized them as relatives. Problem is, they all died long ago. The driver, she said was her Dad’s senior brother who died many years ago. Seated at the back, were two other relatives who also had died many years ago.

Continuing, she said, as the car pulled up, my Grand dad got up from his sick bed, went to go see who was in the car. One of the dead uncles seated at the back seat, got out, opened the car door for my Grand dad to get in. As he joined the occupants in the car, my mom said she tried to enter the car with her dad, but they closed the door, waved at her and drove off.

It was at this point that my mom said she woke up from the dream and started crying. Her crying, kept us all from going back to sleep till early morning. At about 9:00 AM, one of our uncles from my maternal village, came to tell us that my grand father had passed away, in the middle of the night. His confirmation of my Grand dad passing left all of wondering how my Mom could have, seen the event in her dreams; many miles way.
At  the time she had this dream, my grand Dad had been sick for many past weeks. Considering his advanced age, we all knew it was just a matter of time before the inevitable end occurred. Foreseeing the inevitable end as my mom did, was strikingly something that had us in awe, and kept us wondering where and how she saw these things.

In the next series, I will start shearing my own inexplicable stories.
